INTRODUCTION
For the past few years, Matchpoint Tours have run one of the most successful Tenpin Bowling tours across the UK. The premise of the Tour has been that it is "a ‘handicap tour' for Senior Bowlers (over 45's) of all standards carefully monitoring handicaps so that every bowler has a great chance of being competitive." Matchpoint Tours have decided that they are no longer able to support the tour, so in order to keep the events running, the BTBA have agreed to step in and manage the tour on behalf of our members. To facilitate this, a small Tournament Management Committee will be established independently from the normal BTBA Administration team within the "Office of the Chairman". |
RULES
Most of the rules and playing formats will remain the same, at least for the first year, after which time we may adjust things slightly based upon the comments received from our members. Membership of the Tour will be open to all members of the BTBA and others affiliated through membership of other National Tenpin Associations. There will be no additional fee for becoming a member of the Tenpintour. |
LOCAL INVOLVEMENT & CO-OPERATION
We will need a number of volunteers to help us run the tour as local Tournament Managers whose responsibilities will be limited to managing the event on the day and providing a detailed set of results at the end of the competition to allow for the payment of prizes and the maintenance of handicaps going forward. All sanction forms, collection of entry fees and allocation of squads will be done in advance with just the lane draw being done on the day. Please send an email to [email protected] if you would like to help out.
All information i.e. squad details, results etc, will be made available through a link on the BTBA website www.btba.org.uk. Regular emails will be provided to all those members that register their interest via our mail chimp registration page which will also be on the BTBA website. From here, you will be able to update your personal information and unsubscribe from receiving any further emails.
Right now we are contacting bowling centres to see if they wish to host events for us in 2017. If your local centre wants to be considered, please have them drop us a line on the email address below.
Please Note: As this will not be a staffed function all communications will need to be conducted by email to :[email protected]
